Cloud Data Consultant (m/f/d)
Location: Austria or Germany (hybrid in Vienna or fully remote)
Type: Full-Time
As a Cloud Data Consultant (m/f/d) at happtiq, you’ll guide our customers to turn raw event data into clear decisions. Leveraging your expertise, you’ll model datasets in BigQuery, build semantic layers in LookML and craft dashboards that answer real business questions; all while collaborating closely with engineers and stakeholders on their journey into the Google Cloud.
What You’ll Do
Develop, maintain and optimize our clients’ data infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform.
Work hands-on in BigQuery designing schemas, tuning query performance and keeping costs under control.
Translate client requirements into data models, metrics definitions and Looker (or Power BI/Tableau) dashboards.
Build and automate data transformation pipelines using SQL, dbt/Dataform or Dataflow/Beam where scale demands it.
Implement data-governance practices (e.g.,metadata cataloging, lineage tracking, access policies) using Dataplex.
Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored, impactful solutions.
Occasional travel for on-site workshops.

Familiarity with core data engineering concepts (batch vs. streaming, data quality) and BI tools is essential. Comfortable working in fast-moving, multi-project consulting environments.
Cloud Know-How: Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud, but experience with AWS or Azure is also welcome.
Technical Skills :
Data Warehousing knowledge with solid SQL skills.
Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and technologies like Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Dataform or open-source alternatives like dbt, Apache Spark, Beam or Kafka (valuable but not crucial).
Proficiency with at least one BI tool: Looker, Power BI, or Tableau, and a willingness to cross-skill.
Familiarity with Terraform/Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD (nice to have).
Google Cloud professional certifications are a plus.
Problem Solver: A creative, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to handle complex challenges and deliver practical results.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Fluent in German and English. Ability to engage directly with business users asking “why” and “how”.
